Thanks for visiting Pendragon Express.

I founded Pendragon Express in 2002 as an outlet o have more fun, experiment with more “hands on” web design, and to begin more dynamic testing involving paid search, SEO, and partner programs.  I love experimenting with conversion analytics, digging deep to understand usage triggers, and pulling it together.  SEO, SEM, and publishing theme related content sites is a great vehicle to learn & apply new ideas.

I’ve worked for the past 12 years in online commerce, serving a variety of roles with some of the largest web properties in the world.  These include:

HealthGrades - Director of SEO

Manage organic Search traffic, UX, Technical and Content SEO, and more for HealthGrades and BetterMedicine.com, the 5th largest Health site on the web (Comscore, Jan. 2011)

MapQuest / AOL - Director of SEO & Revenue

Managed SEO traffic responsible for 30M UVs/Month.  One of the largest local SEO programs in the world on the 15th largest website in North America.  Revenue and P&L on all search revenue ad placements.

Western Union – Director of Online Marketing

Managed all online media, acquisition, affiliate marketing, SEO, SEM, and agency relationships for online properties in the U.S. and a dozen international properties.  Responsible for P&L and media management, branding, loyalty programs.

Cybersource / VISA - Sr. Product Management & Marketing

Worked on product management, marketing, traffic growth, P&L, SEO, and forecasting for online payments service provider.

Gateway - Direct Marketing, Customer Database Marketing

Early direct marketing activities, catalog business to consumer and SMB marketing segments, customer campaign management.

I’ve had an opportunity to work with some great partners and agencies over the years, including: Beyond Interactive, Carat Interactive, Starcom Media, Range Online, Linkshare, Commission Junction, Google (search and startegic partnership groups), tons of email partners, research groups including folks at Comscore, Hitwise, Forrester, and too many others to mention.

I never stop learning, and include a list of helpful resources on this site and syndicate the wisdom of colleagues who are at the forefront of local SEO, social media, site design, and consumer behavior.  Look for it or subscribe yourself elsewhere on this site.
